Featuring City School District of Albany Superintendent Joseph Hochreiter (drums), Robert Lindquist (piano), and Anthony Berman (bass ), the group formed after a 2024 faculty concert and quickly grew into one of the Capital Regionâs most in-demand live acts.
The Collective holds monthly residencies at Albany staples of Dove + Deer and New Scotland Spirits on Lark Street. Theyâve performed at Albanyâs historic Lark Tavern, McGearyâs, The Argus Hotel, Albany Capital Center, and Schoharie County favorites such as Creekside Collective, and Sunken City Cidery.
Pianist Robert Lindquistâan award-winning performer and staple of the Capital Region jazz sceneâbrings a dynamic mix of classical training and modern jazz sensibility, along with original compositions that shape the bandâs sound.
Bassist Anthony Berman, a veteran of thousands of performances across the Northeast and a longtime collaborator with Bright Dog Red, anchors the group with precision, versatility, and a strong compositional voice.
Drummer Joseph Hochreiter draws from influences ranging from Paul Simon and Steve Gadd to Herbie Hancock and Maynard Ferguson, bringing a deep sense of groove and musicality to the trioâs sound.
